Bedford Cricket Club, based in The Bury, Bedford, is a registered charity as well a limited company. This new status took shape in 2006, replacing the previous Bedford Town Cricket Club. With new direction, vision and a new management team the present successful BCC evolved. The club has achieved its Club Mark accreditation and is one of 17 Focus Clubs in Bedfordshire.

Why should you choose BCC for your child?

We offer children, both boys and girls, a cricket pathway from Kwik Cricket level to adult team level. They are coached by volunteers whom have either attained their ECB coaching qualifications or in the process of achieving them. They have also been fully CRB vetted and their qualifications are constantly being updated and improved. The club’s coaching qualifications vary from a level 1 to level 2+, we will be proud to add a Level 3 coach within the next couple of months. We have 10 coaches whom tirelessly volunteer their time for training sessions and games, they motivate the children and instill team values, amongst other roles they undertake.

Being a Club Mark accredited club means that the BCC is constantly adhering to a set of policies and regulations set out by the ECB. The BCC is provided to do a Health Check each season to ensure that these criteria are adhered to. As a Focus Club, the BCC is Affiliated to the ECB via their County Cricket Board, is committed to achieving the objectives within Building Partnerships, will work in partnership with ECB, the County Cricket Board, schools and the community to deliver high quality agreed outcomes, has achieved or is committed to achieving and maintaining ECB Club Mark and is accredited by providing evidence that they, the BCC, are a safe, effective and child friendly club. The BCC also has a Club Development Plan that has been approved by the County Cricket Board and is reviewed and updated on an annual basis.

What facilities are offered by the BCC?

Our facilities consist of four nets, an astro pitch and a grass square with 18 strips. We have recently acquired a new sightscreen, boundary rope and soon to be installed LED scoreboard. These facilities are recognised as luxuries, which the BCC are proud to offer our members and visiting teams. Our newly refurbished kitchen provides healthy, nutritious meals on Friday evenings and breakfast on Sunday mornings. We cater for all dietary and religious requirements. We have a bar facility which is open when play is on and are hoping to have draught on Tap this year!

As a charity, we rely 100% on parental involvement and donations, should you feel that you have the time to spare and skill which may benefit the club, please email bedfordcc.enquiries@ntlworld.com
